DailyKenn.com — Corey Pujols, 27, will serve two years of house arrest after pleading guilty to felony battery.
The unarmed 77-year-old Vonelle Cook died days after being punched in the jaw by Pujols at a donut restaurant where the convict worked and Cook was a customer.
The convict was also ordered to complete 200 hours of community service and attend an anger management course.
News reports suggest Pujols was justified in the assault because the elderly Cook called the attacker a racial slur.
Is using a racial slur cause for justifiable homicide? Did Cook actually use a racial slur? Or do attackers in such cases sometimes feign fake racism to excuse their lack of impulse control?
Cook was unable to testify at the trial because he is dead.
