DailyKenn.com — 65-year-old Annette D. Touvell was fatally shot in Lake Charles, LA.
Eight were arrested including Jordan Lee Jones, 18. Tyler D. Lewis, 25, of Bridge City, Texas, is wanted on a warrant of principal to second-degree murder.
Two 17-year-old juvenile females were arrested in connection with the shooting. The four were reportedly in the same vehicle from which the shots were fired.
Chelsea R. Hyatt, 36, was arrested for obstruction of justice with more arrests expected.
Reports portray Touvell as collateral damage in a drug-related drive-by shooting. She was not the intended target.
Touvell was in her home watching television with her husband around 7:45 p.m. Saturday when a drive-by shooting occurred in the area. She was struck in the head and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The death of Touvell underscores the importance of freedom of association; the right to live in neighborhoods free from identifiable groups that demonstrate ubiquitous criminal activity.
