DailyKenn.com — 19-year-old Sade Carleena Robinson was killed and dismembered in Milwaukee, WI.
Arrested was Maxwell S. Anderson.
A week following his arrest, Maxwell S. Anderson has been formally charged with the murder and dismemberment of 19-year-old Sade Carleena Robinson.
The charges confirm the suspicions that have been growing since human remains were discovered in a Cudahy park on April 2. These remains have been identified as Robinson's, who was reported missing on the same day. The case gained widespread attention as more human remains were found in Milwaukee in the days that followed.
According to the criminal complaint, Anderson and Robinson met for a first date on April 1. They had dinner, went to a bar, and later visited Anderson's home in Milwaukee's south side. Surveillance footage, witness accounts, and phone tracking data helped investigators piece together their movements over a 16-hour period.
Anderson faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson. His bail was set at $5 million during his court appearance on Friday.
During a joint press conference with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and the Milwaukee Police Department, officials stated that the search for remains is ongoing and the investigation into the motive continues. They did not comment on specific evidence found at Anderson's home but mentioned that blood was discovered in his residence.
Milwaukee County Sheriff Denita Ball confirmed that there's currently no evidence suggesting other victims.
Assistant District Attorney Ian Vance-Curzan revealed in court that a significant portion of Robinson's remains is still missing, and Anderson went to great lengths to conceal her death. He described the allegations as "abhorrent" and "the highest level of violence imaginable."
After the court hearing, Robinson's mother, Sheena Scarbrough, expressed her anger towards Anderson, calling him a "sick son of a (expletive)" and wishing suffering upon him.
"She hurt nobody. She harmed nobody," Scarbrough said, grieving her daughter, who was close to completing her associates degree in criminal justice at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Robinson had aspirations of joining the U.S. Air Force, with several family members having military backgrounds.
"She was an amazing, beautiful angel," Scarbrough recalled. "People admired her everywhere she went."
A GoFundMe page has been set up by the family to assist with funeral expenses.
Anderson, 33, has a criminal record, including misdemeanor convictions for disorderly conduct and domestic violence from 2014 to 2019. He owns a home in Milwaukee’s south side and has been described by neighbors as keeping a low profile, occasionally seen walking his dogs. Anderson has worked at various local bars, with his most recent employment being at Victor’s Nightclub.
