DailyKenn.com — Officer Troy Floyd was fatally shot in Summit, MS.
Suspect Usher Leonard, 25, was fatally shot by police.
Two others officers were injured.
Police were working a checkpoint when a passenger in a passing car opened fire, hitting and killing Floyd. Two other police officers arrived and engaged in a shootout with the suspect, who was shot and killed.
Leonard had a warrant filed weeks earlier, ordering law enforcement to arrest him for violating conditions of a 2020 prison release. [source]
