DailyKenn.com — Danielle Lynn Dolan was fatally shot in Sioux City, IA.
38-year-old Edmund Pendleton, of Sioux City, has been charged with first-degree murder.
At approximately 1:12 a.m. on Sunday, August 25, Sioux City Police received a call about a woman who had been shot. The woman was later identified as Dolan.
Dolan was transported to a local hospital for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
Pendleton and Dolan had been “dating” for about one and a half to two months.
According to court documents, one of the residents present during the shooting heard what was described as an “evil witch laugh” from Pendleton after a gunshot was fired.
By the time officers arrived at the home, Edmund Pendleton had already left.
According to the documents, an autopsy confirmed that Dolan did not commit suicide but was instead shot by someone else.
The autopsy also revealed that Dolan was shot in the back of the head from a distance of at least two or three feet.
