If true, we can expect the composition of the FBI workforce to be 51 percent women, 13 percent black, 17 percent Hispanic, and 6.5 percent Asians. We can also expect to find a significant smattering of Muslims, Sikh Indians, American Indians, Amish, and small number of Agents named Da Qua, Tonya, Elmo, and Bre’On.
The point is this: Creating a workforce that accurately mirrors society is impossible and nearly always impractical.
It seems reasonable that any workforce should be comprised of the most qualified individuals for the jobs. Mirroring communities ethnic, racial, and gender mix should not be a priority.
Imagine if health care institutions hired surgeons based using the equity method. Do you want Da Qua, Tonya, Elmo, and Bre’On performing surgery on you?

Mr. McMillion has served for several years as the chair of the Black Affairs Diversity Committee, which helps the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to advance objectives that affect African American employees and enhance minority recruitment, employment, and retention at FBI.
