DailyKenn.com — Janet L. Jago, the 72-year-old wife of a noted college professor, was fatally shot in Columbia, Missouri.
The suspect, Jermaine M. Burnett, 32, reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a standoff with police.
The motive was an apparent robbery. Police found Jago while investigating a report of a robbery in progress at her home, according to Facebook.com.
Burnett's criminal history is extensive and, had he been incarcerated, Jago would still be alive.
She was the wife of Art Jago, a retired University of Missouri professor, according to abc17news.com.
