Joshua Turza and Meagan Spurgeon killed in fiery crash near Cincinnati, OH

DailyKenn.com — 32-year-old Joshua Turza and 30-year-old Meagan Spurgeon were killed in fiery crash near Cincinnati, OH.

A driver suspected of being under the influence of alcohol led Kentucky State Police troopers on a high-speed chase at over 150 mph before rear-ending another vehicle, causing a fiery crash that killed two people, according to arrest documents.

Jody Lee Miller, a black male, was arrested.

Miller was spotted by a trooper in Grant County on June 9 at around 11:04 p.m. Miller, driving a 2017 BMW, passed the trooper on I-75 at approximately 132 mph.

The trooper activated his emergency equipment and attempted to pull Miller over, but Miller accelerated to about 153 mph instead of stopping, according to the citation.

The citation further states that Miller collided with the rear of a 2013 Kia, which "became engulfed" in flames.

Miller's BMW flipped onto its roof and came to rest in the right lane of the northbound side of I-75. When troopers freed Miller from his vehicle, they detected the smell of alcohol on him, the citation notes.
