Newport, Ky. — One man’s remarkable fight to stay alive after being hit by a hail of bullets has authorities in Northern Kentucky racing to track down three suspects wanted in connection with the May 9 shooting.

Trey Isles, 24, was out with his girlfriend in the early morning hours when the encounter turned deadly. While she went inside a convenience store for snacks, Isles stepped over to speak with someone he knew. A short time later, another vehicle pulled up and gunfire erupted at close range. Isles was struck 15 times but somehow held on.

First responders transported him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where doctors worked to stabilize him. He remains in recovery, facing a long road ahead that includes extensive rehabilitation. Family members have called his survival extraordinary given the severity of his injuries.

Newport police have now named the three individuals they say are responsible and secured arrest warrants for each. Kortney Alford, 30, faces a charge of facilitation of attempted murder. Terry Moses, 26, is wanted for complicity to attempted murder. Tiance Combs, 30, is charged with attempted murder.

Officials describe all three as armed and dangerous. They caution the public against any direct contact and ask residents to report sightings or helpful details immediately.

The investigation continues as detectives work to clarify the full sequence of events leading up to the shooting. Police stress this appears to be an isolated case rather than part of any wider pattern.

Isles, known to loved ones as a devoted son and father, now focuses on healing while his family coordinates support for the months of therapy and care still to come.

Anyone with information about the suspects’ locations is urged to reach out right away. Tips can be given anonymously.
