Rev. Stephen Gutgsell fatally stabbed in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska

DailyKenn.com — Rev. Stephen Gutgsell, 65, was fatally stabbed in his Calhoun, NE church rectory. 

Kierre L. Williams, 43, was taken into custody at the scene. He was later arrested on suspicion of homicide and use of a weapon to commit a felony, reports say. 

Gutgsell was assaulted during the home invasion at the St. John the Baptist Church. 

The priest managed to call 911. When police arrived, they "found Gutgsell bleeding from stab wounds on his face and body, lying in the rectory kitchen with the suspect, Kierre L. Williams, on top of him," according to cbsnews.com.

Gutgsell died hours later at a hospital.
