DailyKenn.com — Former Trump official Mike Gill, 56, was fatally shot during a carjacking in Washington, DC.

Fatally shot by police was serial carjacker, Artell Cunningham, 28.

"Police cornered him about 4.30am on Tuesday, after his crime spree that also killed Alberto Vasquez Jr, 35, in a separate DC carjacking 90 minutes after Gill was shot," according to dailymail.co.uk.

Former Trump Administration official Mike Gill lost his life in a carjacking incident in Washington DC. He was shot by Artell Cunningham on K Street NW while collecting his wife. Gill, a married father of three, served as the chief operating officer of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission during Donald Trump's presidency.

Cunningham, the assailant, later encountered police and was gunned down after a crime spree that included killing another victim, Alberto Vasquez Jr. Cunningham had a criminal history and appeared to be undergoing a mental health crisis at the time.

Gill's wife, Kristina, expressed gratitude for the support from family, friends, and the community, stating that his sudden departure left an irreplaceable void. Gill's professional history included roles in government, private firms, and trade associations, showcasing a distinguished career.

J. Christopher Giancarlo, the chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission during Gill's tenure, paid tribute, describing Gill as a wonderful, honest, and open-hearted person. After Trump's loss in the 2020 election, Gill worked as the senior vice president for capital markets at the Housing Policy Council.

Drew Maloney, a friend of Gill for 15 years, expressed gratitude for their enduring friendship, highlighting Gill's warmth and kindness.
