A graying charismatic man in a white suit stands before an audience numbering in the tens of thousands. Like sheep to the slaughter, they've come to be baptized in a holy hoax that promises healing through faith. No faith, no healing. That's the deal. A generous donation to the man in white is implied, but only if you want to reap a financial windfall.
Switch channels. The charismatic televangelist is replaced by a charismatic news anchor. It's a different religion, but the hoax is the same. Believe that Government (spelled with a capital G, like God) will provide all your needs. Just believe and you will receive.
And so they believe. None are actually healed and any financial windfall is coincidental. Things only get worse as faithful believers fall deeper into liabilities as they swear off workable remedies. Some even die. Worse, still, are those whose children suffer as mom and pop step out on faith, and refuse tried-and-proven antidotes.
Faith trumps facts. The most vulnerable have hell to pay for they, too, are the most faithful.

The facts are that free markets coupled with intelligence, ethics, and innovation create prosperity. But religions of promises without premises will always fail. Those who are hurt the worst are those promised the most.
In America, those hurt the worst by the "progressive" religion of the woke left are those who are promised to receive the most from Government. Again, the capital G.
These victims are disproportionately made up of blacks and other nonwhites. They are denied access to accurate diagnoses. Instead, they are told what they want to hear. What they want to hear is that white devils — mostly men — are what ails them. And so they believe.
What is the accurate diagnosis?
Blacks, in the aggregate, have an average IQ of about 85 in the USA. In sub-Saharan Africa the number is about 70 [citation]. In Somalia and Ethiopia, the intelligence quotient falls below 70, the cut off for mental retardation [source] .
Let's put that in perspective.
To serve in the military, prospective recruits must score 10 or above on the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT). By law (10 U.S.C. § 520), individuals scoring in AFQT Category V (percentiles 1–9) are ineligible for enlistment. That corresponds to an IQ of 83–92 (often cited around 83 on scales like Stanford-Binet or Wechsler).
About half of black Americans, then, would be ineligible for enlistment in the military. That's the diagnosis. The prognosis is, these people can expect careers other than the military, brain surgery, and piloting airliners.
Far-left faith healers bear down on the faithful with diagnoses that fit their faith rather than align with reality. Poverty, meaning you're stuck with last year's iPhone, a flat screen remote with dead batteries, and a Lexus that's two months behind on its loan payments, is caused by systemic racism, and a legacy of slavery. How P-pop Daddy manages to earn and lose millions bellowing (c)rap lyrics is never considered. Those who insist on a proper diagnosis are vilified with a single word: racist.
Speak the word and the good old boys on Dukes of Hazzard transform into sinister hobgoblins.
Apparently, that lone word encapsulates a plethora of arguments that unequivocally answers any scintilla of reason one could offer. Racist. Nothing more need be said, though sometimes "fat" and "ugly" are added for emphasis.
If informing someone their lack of intelligence disqualifies them to pilot a Boeing 727 makes me a racist, then I'll accept the moniker if it will save lives, including the life of the pilot. But the evangelists of the far left don't care about lives. Their faith in Marxism trumps reality.
I believe it is immoral and illogical to hate someone due to their immutable characteristics, such as race. I also believe it is immoral and illogical to deny realty.
