SHREVEPORT, La. (
DailyKenn.com) — Fatal Shooting Claims Life of Young Webster Parish Resident on City Street

Authorities have identified the man who died from gunshot wounds in an early morning incident on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive as Timothy Hall, a 24-year-old from Sibley in Webster Parish, according to the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office.

Shreveport Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:38 a.m. on Dec. 29 in the 1500 block of the thoroughfare, near Montana Street and Joe Louis Boulevard, in the city's Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered Hall behind the wheel of a white Chevrolet Impala, suffering from a bullet wound to the head. A female passenger in the vehicle had sustained a leg injury from gunfire, police reported.

Both individuals were rushed to Ochsner LSU Health hospital for emergency care. Medical staff pronounced Hall dead at 2:11 a.m., the coroner's office confirmed. An autopsy was ordered to determine additional details about his injuries. The woman's wounds were described as not life-threatening by authorities, though her identity has not been released.

The episode began when Hall was driving through the area and came under fire, leading to the vehicle coming to a stop with both occupants wounded inside, based on initial police findings. Investigators have not disclosed a motive or identified any suspects in the case. No arrests have been made, and formal charges remain pending as the probe continues, Shreveport police stated.

Law enforcement officials are appealing for public assistance, urging anyone with knowledge of the event to contact the department directly or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers channels. The killing marks the 39th homicide recorded in Shreveport this year and the 46th in Caddo Parish overall, according to coroner records.

In the community, responses have reflected grief and calls for resolution. Relatives and acquaintances shared remembrances of Hall as a gentle person with a distinctive character, offering prayers for his loved ones, including his mother and brother. A former educator who knew him expressed admiration for his potential, while others advocated for enhanced surveillance measures in the area to aid in capturing those responsible. Residents voiced frustration over the lack of updates on the surviving victim and emphasized the need for swift justice.

The incident has heightened concerns about safety in the neighborhood, prompting discussions among locals about preventive steps against such violence.
