And, yet, the CDC is just now getting around to sounding the alarm.
According to the statement the serious health risk is "racism."
"Today, Rochelle P. Walensky MD, MPH, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), declared racism a serious public health threat," the report began.
The announcement revealed that the recent COVID-19 pandemic is affecting "communities of color" more severely. The pandemic didn't cause the health risk. It did, however, illuminate it, the report explained.
What we know is this: racism is a serious public health threat that directly affects the well-being of millions of Americans. As a result, it affects the health of our entire nation. Racism is not just the discrimination against one group based on the color of their skin or their race or ethnicity, but the structural barriers that impact racial and ethnic groups differently to influence where a person lives, where they work, where their children play, and where they worship and gather in community. These social determinants of health have life-long negative effects on the mental and physical health of individuals in communities of color.
Over generations, these structural inequities have resulted in stark racial and ethnic health disparities that are severe, far-reaching and unacceptable.
• Could this be another racism hoax?
• The report offered no statistics and cited no research data to support its claims that "communities of color" are at a greater risk than communities of non-color.
• The report failed to note which "communities of color" were most affected and if some "communities of color" were less affect than other communities of color or, possibly, less affect than the community of non-color. For example: Is it possible that East Asian communities are less affected by COVID-19 than the community of non-color?
• Is it possible that governments will use the racism health risk as an excuse to impose authoritarian dictates and retract our constitutional rights and freedoms?
• Could it be that the COVID-19 pandemic is a template that created the precedence for the racism pandemic and subsequent losses of freedom?
• Are single-family dwellings a serious health risk because they are deemed "racist" by some? Are micro-aggressions a serious health risk? Is white privilege a serious health risk? Are white people a serious health risk? Is Shakespeare a serious health risk? Is Mr. Potato Head a serious health risk?
• Could it be the CDC announcement is a clear example of institutional anti-white racism?
