DailyKenn.com — Human activity has a small impact on earth's environment. That seems to be the conclusion of Dr. Steven Koonin, former undersecretary for science at the U.S. Department of Energy in the Obama administration.
"Humans exert a growing, but physically small, warming influence on the climate," he noted. "The results from many different climate models disagree with, or even contradict, each other and many kinds of observations. In short, the science is insufficient to make useful predictions about how the climate will change over the coming decades, much less what effect our actions will have on it."
Koonin cited Nobel-prizewinning Caltech colleague Richard Feynman as referring to the obsession with climate change as "cargo cult science."
Take away...
• It appears the cult analogy is dead on accurate. Leftists cling to the man-made climate change myth like Jehovah's Witnesses endlessly predict the Second Coming: They keep kicking the can down the road.
• We don't fault those who wish to maintain a clean environment, safe from hazardous chemicals. We do fault those who complain of overtaxing the environment with a growing population, then argue to open Western nations to massive invasions from third world countries.
