4 dead at Greenwood Mall shooting (Indiana)

That was 1977.

At the time, Greenwood was an all-White suburban community adjacent to Indianapolis.

There was very little violent crime.

Reports say four were fatally shot in the mall's foot court. Two others were injured.

Lives were saved when a bystander fatally shot the shooter.
