DailyKenn.com — Joshua Ryan Calk, 47, was fatally shot in Bossier City, Louisiana.
The suspect has been identified as 50-year-old Cortrell Montesez Burks.
Police say Calk was killed while Burks was robbing a convenience store.
Burks also shot and killed the store clerk, 36-year-old Jairah Hamilton, authorities say. The clerk was black.
Burks reportedly exchanged gunfire with police when they arrived at the crime scene. One officer survived multiple gunshot wounds.
"Burks is wanted in Alabama as the suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 40-year-old woman inside a home in Center Point in late April," according to cbs42.com. The stabbing victim has been identified as Erica Williams, who was black.
The Jefferson County, Alabama sheriff's department described Burks as "a 50-year-old black male, who is 6’2” tall and weighs approximately 250 lbs..."
