DailyKenn.com — 16-year-old Izak Jasso was fatally shot in Colorado Springs, CO.
Arrested was Marshaun F. Weathington, 19. He faces charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Aggravated Robbery, according to police.
According to krdo.com, Jasso was shot while walking home from work:
After walking nearly an entire mile and just two houses down from his front door,
Weathington ran up to Izak, raises a gun at him, and demands his wallet, according to the arrest records.
Izak turns toward Weathington, who puts the gun into Izak’s stomach.
The documents said Izak then grabbed the arms of Weathington
and the two started fighting before Weathington shot Izak in the chest.
The report described the death as "a robbery gone wrong," possibly implying that the shooting was an excusable accident.
Had the suspect been reported by neighbors as being in "the wrong place," they would have likely been dismissed as racists.
