DailyKenn.com — Here's the tale of two Hoosier cities.

According to livability.com, Fishers, Indiana is the 7th best place to live in the USA. Many consider it to be among the safest cities in the state.

Gary, Indiana is noted as one of the most dangerous cities in the USA and, arguably, the most dangerous in Indiana.

What makes the difference?

The population of Fishers is booming. 37,835 called the city home in March of 2000. Two decades later the population stood at 101,171 [source].

Gary's population has declined dramatically. 102,489 people lived there in 2000. Two decades later only 68,325 people call it home [source].

Gary was once a boom town like Fishers. However, the dark cloud of urban savagery shrouded the city in a storm of violence as the white population was displaced. It is now about 78 percent black.

If you visit Fishers, you will be hard-pressed to see black faces. In fact, Fishers' black population is under six percent. 83 percent is white.

And that raises a question: How long will Fishers remain safe?

The answer is: Fishers will remain safe as long as it remains white.

You will actually see a few residents wearing hoods and robes in public. These are not Klansters, but rather they are Muslim women donned in Islamic "habits" or hijabs. The presence of hijabs is an indication of things to come, such as the proverbial writing on the wall or the cloud the size of a man's hand (see 1 Kings 18:44-46).

The cloud of urban crime has begun to darken Fisher's future.

According to neighborhoodscout.com, the murder rate in Fishers is zero. That requires adjustment.

There was a murder there a few days ago. According to news reports, Kaylah Ann Farmer, 33, was fatally shot at a gas station in Fishers, IN.

Joshua Farmer, 32, was identified as the suspect.

The victim, presumed to be the suspect's wife, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in her vehicle next to a gas pump.

She was the mother of three.

Joshua is black. Kaylah was white.

Aside from the biblical idioms of wall writing and clouds on the horizon is the oft-told Islamic moral story of allowing a camel to poke its nose under a tent. In a matter of time, the tent will become Gary, Indiana.
