A Connecticut correction officer, William Lucky, aged 32, has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing an unarmed motorist, Scott Kracke, during a road rage incident on I-691 in Meriden, CT.
Lucky claims self-defense, stating that he feared for his life. Lucky's lawyer, Michael Hillis, argued that Lucky had a baby in a car seat behind him during the incident and emphasized Lucky's "stellar record."
The confrontation escalated after the two drivers cut each other off, leading to a roadside altercation.
Lucky allegedly pulled out a 9 mm Glock and shot Kracke in the head and torso. Lucky then fled the scene, leaving the victim fatally wounded.
Lucky, a correction officer since December 2018, turned himself in and is on paid administrative leave, facing a $2.5 million bail.
