DailyKenn.com — Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has advocated for the chemical castration of individuals convicted of violent sexual offenses, in response to a recent appalling incident. Last week, a group of Egyptian migrants was apprehended on suspicion of gang-raping a 13-year-old schoolgirl in a park, sparking outrage.

According to reports from the Italian newspaper Il Giornale, the girl and her boyfriend were assaulted by the migrant group in the Sicilian city of Catania. The assailants dragged the girl into a public bathroom, where she was brutally attacked while her boyfriend, also subjected to violence, could do nothing to intervene.

Despite their ordeal, the couple managed to escape, but not before the girl was raped by two of the migrants. Subsequently, six of the migrants, including three minors, were arrested on the same evening, while the seventh was detained the following day after attempting to flee the town.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed solidarity with the victim and her family, affirming the state's commitment to ensuring justice. Salvini took a more assertive stance, rejecting tolerance and advocating for immediate action, including the proposal for chemical castration put forth by the League to be voted on as soon as possible.
