DailyKenn.com — 43-year-old Jennifer Gorecki was fatally shot in Evansville, IN.
Jason Horne, 44, was arrested.
The shooting was reported by a boy who called 911 from the crime scene. His grandmother took the phone.
Reports say the boy was the son of the suspect and victim.
Gorecki died from a gunshot wound to the torso at a hospital.
According to 14news.com:
Officers say the child told them he was playing at a nearby friend’s house and heard Horne yelling his name from the home where the shooting happened.
He says he heard Horne say “No. No. God, please,” then saw his mother on the floor.
Police say the child’s grandmother told them Horne said the woman shot herself.
They say there were no burn marks on Gorecki’s clothes, and that she could not have done so.
Police say Horne’s story changed several times and ranged from not knowing there had been a shooting to admitting he had been drinking and was in an argument with Gorecki.
