DailyKenn.com — 59-year-old Tony Prewitt died in Fayetteville, NC after a collision with another vehicle.

40-year-old Keavin Thompson was arrested.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol stated that Thompson disregarded a red light, leading to the collision with Prewitt's vehicle, resulting in Prewitt's death.

Thompson is facing charges of second-degree murder and DWI. After the accident, he was transported to a hospital. However, during a subsequent transfer to another medical facility, state troopers lost sight of him, and he was subsequently released.

Since then, Thompson has evaded authorities and remains at large. CBS 17 highlighted his extensive criminal record, which includes drug offenses, leaving the scene of a prior car accident, and failing to appear in court for three active DWI charges.
