DailyKenn.com — Video footage captured a brawl involving at least 10 adults and children during a kindergarten graduation ceremony at Buckley Carpenter Elementary in Somerville, Tennessee, on May 15, 2024.

The chaos erupted when tensions between two women in the crowd, identified as Tyeisha Humphreys and Kierra Smith, escalated into violence, police told Fox 13 Memphis.

Humphreys and Smith were seen brawling down the gymnasium bleachers as witnesses tried to escape the scene. Additionally, at least two other individuals on the basketball court exchanged punches.

According to the report, Tyeisha Humphreys told police she was attacked first, while Smith claimed that Humphreys, her childhood acquaintance, instigated the brawl.

Security footage obtained by law enforcement allegedly showed Humphreys entering the gym and sitting directly behind Smith. Smith then moved to sit next to a father and his child. An argument ensued between Smith and the child, allegedly leading Smith to take an aggressive stance. This prompted Humphreys to run down the bleachers and strike Smith from behind, starting the fight.

Ronda Humphreys, who was arrested during the incident, told Fox 13 that she was wrongfully detained and that her son was elbowed in the head by an adult during the melee. "I got hysterical. The police called the ambulance," she said. "They said he had a concussion and released him."

Following the graduation brawl, Dantavious Gilchrease, along with Ronda and Tyeisha Humphreys, were arrested. The relationship between Gilchrease and the Humphreys was not disclosed. Gilchrease was arrested outside the school for allegedly threatening to "shoot [Ronda Humphreys] in the face."

Tyeisha Humphreys faces charges of violating an order of protection, inciting a riot, and three counts of simple assault.

This incident occurred a week after another graduation-related fight at Hamilton High School in Memphis, Tennessee. There, a senior threw his diploma at another student, causing a brawl. The fight allegedly began after a security guard removed the senior for throwing gang signs. As he was being escorted out, the senior threw his diploma at the other student, who then jumped over three rows of seats to chase after him.

So, what do you think? Is such behavior genetic?
