DailyKenn.com — Corey Proulx, 49, died after being assaulted in Irma, WI.
Javarius M. Hurd, 16, was charged as an adult with second-degree reckless homicide, felony murder and two felony counts of battery by a prisoner.
Corey Proulx was working as a counselor at Lincoln Hills School for Boys youth prison when he was attacked.
Prosecutors later charged 17-year-old Rian Nyblom with felony murder and two counts of battery by prisoners as a party to a crime.
Police report that Nyblom was incarcerated in the same unit as Hurd, who was charged with second-degree reckless homicide and two counts of battery by prisoners. Proulx died one day after he was allegedly attacked. A 25-year-old woman working at the facility was also attacked but is expected to make a full recovery.
Proulx, 49, had returned to serve as a youth counselor at Lincoln Hills School last spring after leaving the school briefly two years prior.
