DailyKenn.com — Jurisdictions nationwide are reassessing their sanctuary city policies and increasing cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enhance public safety, ICE's acting Director P.J. Lechleitner told NBC News.
In an interview, Lechleitner noted that some counties and cities that previously refused to notify ICE when releasing undocumented immigrants from jail are now exploring ways to coordinate more closely, such as providing advance notice before releasing migrants convicted of violent crimes.
