Tragic Janesville Shooting Leaves Three Dead, One Critically Injured
DailyKenn.com — Janesville, WI (June 26, 2025) – A tragic murder–suicide in Janesville has left three young adults dead and a fourth man critically wounded, shaking the local community and raising renewed concerns over domestic violence.
Among the dead are three whites and black. The media did not disclose which of the four was the shooter.
The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identities of the deceased: Julia Katherine Cvicker, 25; Haylee Renae Lounsbury, 21; Jahvarius Jakai Wicks, 21; and Scott Roberts, 55.
According to police, officers responded around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, following reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered a grim scene: three individuals dead from gunshot wounds and another man barely clinging to life. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute and are calling it a murder–suicide. Authorities have not yet released the name of the shooter, but say the person responsible is among the deceased.
“This heartbreaking event has profoundly affected the families of the deceased and the community,” said a spokesperson for the Janesville Police Department. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are mourning.”
Julia Cvicker was a Delavan native and a graduate of Big Foot High School. Friends and family have described her as kind, generous, and deeply loved. Haylee Lounsbury and Jahvarius Wicks were remembered by loved ones through social media tributes and candlelight vigils.
