DailyKenn.com — Donnie Boatman, 38, of Modesto, California, was fatally shot on the evening of July 2, 2025, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the scene around 6:42 p.m. following reports of gunfire and discovered Boatman with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Authorities identified 34-year-old Dontae Galindo as a suspect and arrested him the following day, just blocks from the scene. Galindo, who has a history of violent and drug-related offenses, was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail and is facing charges of murder and unlawful firearm possession.
Officials have not released a specific motive for the killing, although investigators believe the incident may have stemmed from a personal dispute.
