Scottsdale Man, 20, Killed in Ambush Shooting; Suspects Charged in Double Homicide
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (DailyKenn.com) — Ramon Manuel Moraga, a 20-year-old Scottsdale resident, was fatally shot in what authorities described as an armed robbery gone deadly, leaving him and his fiancée dead in their vehicle on June 30, 2025.
Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots around 9:50 p.m. near Shea Boulevard and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, where they found a bullet-riddled car that had crashed into a ditch along 115th Street and Sahuaro Drive. Moraga was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. His 21-year-old fiancée, Nadia Mysliwiec, was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after.

Investigators believe the couple had arranged to sell vape cartridges for $70 to three suspects, whom Moraga did not know. The transaction turned violent when the suspects allegedly pulled guns and demanded the items, leading to the shooting as the victims attempted to drive away. The incident is considered isolated, with no ongoing threat to the community.
Nearly a month later, Scottsdale police, in coordination with multiple agencies, executed search warrants and arrested 16-year-old Davion Hunter and 18-year-old Lebron Rogers and one unidentified juvenile. Rogers was booked into Maricopa County Jail on two counts each of first-degree murder and armed robbery. The juveniles face similar charges in juvenile court. Evidence recovered during the arrests linked the suspects to the crime, police said.
Moraga, born Feb. 25, 2005, in Mesa, was remembered by family and friends as a joyful young man full of promise. Raised by his cousins after losing his parents, he was engaged to Mysliwiec and dreamed of a bright future. The couple's families expressed profound grief, with Mysliwiec's mother calling detectives daily in the aftermath. A memorial service was held in early July, where loved ones lit candles and shared stories of the "perfect couple" whose lives were cut short in a senseless act.
The shooting occurred around 9:50 pm on June 30, 2025.
Authorities continue to investigate and urge anyone with information to contact Scottsdale police at 480-312-8477.
