LONGVIEW, Texas — A night out at a local nightclub took a violent turn for a woman who found herself targeted in what authorities describe as an unprovoked assault. On June 21, 2026, Sammie Lee walked toward her car in a Longview parking lot when three women allegedly set upon her, leaving her with visible injuries that included bleeding and trauma to her head and face.

Police identified the suspects as Ciarrianne Fuller, 21, and Alana Mumphrey, 25, both of Longview, along with Dejae Brown, 26, of Pittsburg. Each woman now stands charged with assault causing bodily injury, a misdemeanor. Fuller was arrested first, while the other two turned themselves in days later. All three posted $20,000 bonds and left custody shortly after booking.

Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Class A Misdemeanor) typically commands a bond from $2,500 to $10,000 in Texas, according to an internet search. This often applies to domestic assault cases or physical altercations. The higher than usual bond points to the severity of the alleged attack.

Investigators gathered accounts from multiple witnesses who placed the women at the scene. Some reported hearing chants of “Free Karmelo” during the attack, a phrase linked to ongoing support for Karmelo Anthony, the North Texas teenager convicted in the 2025 fatally stabbing of a high school athlete, Austin Metcalf. Black apologists for Anthony claim he killed Metcalf in self defense.

Court papers also note claims that the group sought out “the smallest white girl they could find,” suggesting the assault was blatantly race motivated. Lee told authorities she had no previous contact with her attackers that evening.

The case drew quick attention after Lee shared photos of her injuries on social media. Those images showed the extent of the harm she suffered and helped fuel public discussion about the incident. Longview police continue to review evidence, including statements that confirm no argument or dispute occurred inside the club beforehand.

Anthony’s conviction has sparked protests and online campaigns across Texas, yet most remain peaceful. In this instance, the alleged actions crossed into physical violence against a stranger, raising questions about how far some supporters might go. Authorities have not pursued hate crime enhancements at this stage, focusing instead on the basic assault charges.

Similar confrontations have been reported [see report here]. Some apologists claim the jury that convicted Anthony was all white. "Of the 12 jurors, three were racial minorities, including Asian and Indian, eight were women and four were men. They confirmed that of the 18 total jurors, including alternates, six were minorities," ibid.

As the legal process moves forward, prosecutors will rely on witness testimony and other proof to build their case. For Lee, the episode serves as a stark reminder of how quickly an ordinary evening can change. The three women maintain their positions as the matter heads toward court.
