DailyKenn.com — Canadian Pastor James Coates and GraceLife Church are feeling the wrath of tyranny. The pastor is doing jail time for conducting church services. The services are essentially the same as they have always been.

The church changed nothing. And, therein, lies the problem. The church didn't change but the government did change.

Canadian authorities decided churches must limit attendance to 15 percent of capacity. The aegis, as you may have already guessed, is the covid virus "crisis".

It seems authoritarian governments have learned to use crises — both real and concocted — to tighten the grip on their populations. The man-made climate change crisis (formerly 'global warming' crisis) is leveraged to excuse an array of authoritarian decisions that impact our economies, but not our environment.

In the USA, the virus has been very good to far-left Democrats. Consequently, we can expect more crises to arise in the future.

We wonder: What new excuses will governments use to prosecute pastors and congregations of churches that are not 'woke'? Maybe anti-Christian governments will learn suppression and persecution strategies from communist China.

Canadian Pastor James Coates' wife, Erin, recently shared details on her husband's ongoing imprisonment. Coates awaits trial on May 3 for "exceeding the 15% allowable capacity for the services held on Feb. 21 and Feb. 28, 2021."

The Royal Candian Mounted Police announced this week it would be filing charges against Coates' congregation, GraceLife Church.

According to his wife, when Coates was first put in jail, he was quarantined for two weeks with only two 15-minute sessions outside of his cell.

Coates initially shared a jail cell with another man but was removed due to the "high profile" nature of Coates' case. From then on, he has "spent the majority of the two weeks alone," his wife said. Coates was moved to the general population list on March 4.
