DailyKenn.com — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) wants Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) expelled from congress. Greene apparently is miffed after Waters allegedly incited violence in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
When asked about the Derek Chauvin trial by Fox News, Waters responded, "we've got to stay on the street, and we've got to get more active. We've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make sure that they know that we mean business," if Chauvin is not found guilty.
Chauvin is the police officer being tried in the death of criminal George Floyd who died while in police custody.
After Waters's apparent call for increased violence, shots were fired at National Guardsmen in Minnesota lending speculation that Waters's comments may have inspired the shooting.
Take aways...
• Waters's call for Chauvin's conviction is clearly a disregard for the country's principles of justice in which a person is innocent until proven guilty.
• Violent reaction to Floyd's death has resulted in at least 25 deaths as rioters ran amok in various urban centers. Waters call to increase the violence is seen as a call to increase the death toll.
• Waters could have called for peaceful protests and, in so doing, possibly saved lives.
Asked about Chauvin’s trial, Waters told reporters that if Chauvin is not found guilty, "we've got to stay on the street, and we've got to get more active. We've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make sure that they know that we mean business," according to Fox News, in addition to making other comments on the trial and police brutality in the U.S.
Greene on Sunday claimed that Waters’s comments “led to more violence and a drive by shooting on National Guardsmen in Minnesota early this morning.”
