DailyKenn.com — I love public transportation, the smell of urine, the sight of indigents snoring off their Mogen David, the gangs of urban savages trying to hustle me out of money, and I love trying to push through it all just to get to the exit.

When America began to hit its stride at the onset of the industrial revolution, trains were the preferred mode of transportation; much better than than the stage coach.

But the world evolved. Automobiles introduced America to road trips. From coast to coast or just to the grocery, freedom was parked in our drive way.

Pete Buttigieg wants to change that.

Need to travel to see your kin? First, you need to find a ride to the train station. Want to go to the pharmacy for meds? Put on your boots and scarf. It's a long walk.

"When we envision travel for the next 50 years, the train should be a common sense option. The rumble of rails. The freedom of looking out your train window should once again be known to be as all-American as the open road."

Sounds like a virus incubation system to me.

To make things more convenient, single-family homes will be replaced with high-rise housing projects where lawn ornament will be long forgotten and graffiti will be an art form.

And they have the gall to call themselves, "progressives."

No, Pete. It's a giant step backward. It's not freedom. It's government reliance where those with healthy social credit scores will get the perks like a room with a view and an aisle seat.
