AbateHate.com — Kyle Craig, age 26, was fatally shot in Holmes County Mississippi.
Montavious Landfair has been named a suspect. Another suspect, an unidentified juvenile, is in custody.
Reports say Craig had a large amount of cash on him when he left home to meet up with an individual he thought was selling an ATV. The vehicle had been offered for sale on Facebook but, apparently, was a set up for a robbery.
Reports say the victim was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
The incident occurred June 2, 2021.
Kyle Craig, of Ocean Springs, found an ATV for sale on Facebook Marketplace that he was attempting to buy, according to Holmes County Sheriff Willie March. The victim's family told police that he drove from Ocean Springs to Holmes County Wednesday morning to meet the seller.
After his family did not hear from him, Craig was reported missing to Holmes County authorities.
Investigators said Craig had a large sum of money on him and it appeared that whoever he met with had robbed and killed him. His body was found, with multiple gunshot wounds, off Long Branch Road near the West community.
Holmes County investigators have made one arrest and are currently looking for a second suspect.
A juvenile male is currently in custody and the other suspect, Montavious Landfair, is still on the run. Sheriff March said there are other individuals involved who could be charged as accessories.
