DailyKenn.com — Off-duty fireman Anthony 'Tony' Santi, 41, was fatally shot in Independence, MO.
There were no arrests for the shooting.
Reports say Santi intervened as Ja'Von L. Taylor, 23 was verbally abusing a clerk at a gas station. A fight ensued with Taylor handing his girlfriend a gun. She used the gun to shoot Santi in the back. He died at the scene.
Taylor, a felon, was charged with firearm possession.
Kevin Jamison, who wrote Missouri's Weapons and Self-Defense Law, said: 'Technically it's called the defense of justification and your justification is you are saving the life of another person.'
Apparently, if you are attacked by someone in Missouri, a bystander may legally shoot you dead by first shouting, "You're killing him."
Santi was White and Taylor is Black.
One could conclude that Taylor vicariously killed Santi by handing the gun to his girlfriend.
White people are not expected to riot in Missouri, however. But we can expect a candlelight vigil; White people's alternative to rioting.
