DailyKenn.com — 4,000 years ago the God of biblical wrath poured fire and brimstone on the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Fast forward to 2024 and he's doing it again. But things have changed a bit. It seems the balls of fire are in the form of elderly dementia-smitten man who is occupying the Oval Office.
So, it seems, is the opinion of House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.).
“The Bible says that God is the one that raises up people and authority. I believe God is sovereign — by the way, so did the founders,” Johnson explained.
Noted conservative podcaster Steve Bannon seemed to have missed the nuance of Johnson's opinion. In so doing, Trump's former White House advisor countered the country needs a House Speaker rather than a “theologian.”
Considering the nation was found largely by Christian theologians or those under their spell, Bannon seems to be off a bit.
“Yo, dude, he’s an illegitimate president,” Bannon protested. “Have you lost your freaking mind? This election was stolen.”
But that's not the point.
Rather, the point is that America needs wake up calls to keep it from slagging off into a seep sleep of woke bliss.
America needs a Biden, Carter, or Clinton to intersperse reality in the same manner the sin cities of biblical lore needed balls of fire crashing down on the heads.
Sharp turns to the woke left, compliments of neo-commies, serve to re-calibrate our country's alertness that we risk being the proverbial boiling frog.
Rather than bashing Johnson, it would have been preferred that Bannon reached out to the Speaker for clarification. A house divided cannot stand. And as one of the senior statesmen of the conservative movement, Bannon should be hyper-vigilant in maintaining more than a show of unity, but a real and genuine united front that cannot be penetrated by the most incendiary of woke affronts.
