Lauralye Sterling, 14, fatally shot in Lima, Ohio

 

DailyKenn.com — 14-year-old Lauralye Sterling was fatally shot in Lima, OH.

Malik Dennis, 18, was arrested.

The victim's body was discovered in a residence. Following his arrest, Dennis confessed to shooting Sterling. Additionally, investigators suspect that a robbery may have occurred before the fatal shooting.

Detective Jesse Harrod of the Lima Police Department provided insights into the events surrounding Sterling's alleged murder. "He admitted to firing a shot inside the house after climbing on the antenna, firing a shot through the window," Detective Harrod stated. "There was one hole through the window, and she was shot one time."

The case will proceed to the grand jury for further consideration of additional charges. Dennis is currently held on a $2 million bond.
