DailyKenn.com — Kaylee Gain sustained severe brain injuries after her head was repeatedly slammed against the pavement during an attack near her school.

Her family has shared an update on her condition.

"Seeing her progress so rapidly has been truly heartening," wrote Kaylee’s parents, Clint and Jaime Gain, in a recent GoFundMe post.

"Physically, she's making strides and can walk with minimal assistance. However, for her safety, she still wears a protective helmet due to the absence of her bone flap," they proudly stated about their 16-year-old daughter's recovery.

The missing bone flap will undergo a future surgical procedure to be restored, as Kaylee's parents elaborated.

"In terms of cognition, Kaylee has shown significant improvement since awakening from her coma. Nonetheless, there's a long road ahead to regain her full pre-incident self," they continued.

Kaylee has been hospitalized since March 8th following a filmed attack near her St. Louis high school by a black girl.

The video captured the moment when the other girl mounted Kaylee, repeatedly striking her head against the pavement while onlookers watched with amusement.

After spending several days in a coma, Kaylee regained consciousness. In an earlier GoFundMe update, her parents mentioned that she had begun speaking in short phrases or sentences.

Some site the attack to explain school segregation prior to Brown vs. Board of Education. Our children should not be forced to suffer violence merely to satisfy the misguided notions of woke extremists.

The advent of the internet coupled with the proliferation of video devices allow the world to witness such attacks.
