27-year-old Ariante Ladon Williams faces four felony charges including first-degree murder.
Authorities suspect that Williams shot and robbed two individuals in an apartment. Allegedly, video footage depicts Williams exiting the apartment complex with a handgun and a bag of marijuana he purportedly stole.
Brown succumbed to his injuries marking Des Moines' first homicide of 2024. Another victim, a 16-year-old male, was hospitalized.
Williams himself sustained a gunshot wound during the robbery and received medical treatment. Currently, he is detained.
A fourth individual, identified only as a 19-year-old male, sustained injuries during the robbery and was transported to a hospital by a private vehicle.
