DailyKenn.com — During a conversation with comedian Akaash Singh, Joe Rogan took a jab at CNN's viewership compared to the vast audience of his podcast, especially in light of their coverage of his 2021 announcement regarding his COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment, which included ivermectin.

Rogan recounted the controversy surrounding CNN airing his video disclosing his prescribed medications, accusing the network of altering the video's color to portray him as more ill than he actually was. Despite CNN denying this and an Associated Press fact check finding no evidence of manipulation, Rogan expressed his initial reaction to the situation, noting that any attempt to make him appear sickly would falter once he began speaking.

Unfazed by potential negative coverage from CNN, Rogan emphasized the size of his podcast audience compared to CNN's viewership, asserting that the network underestimated his reach.

Although comparing the total audiences of Rogan's podcast and CNN is challenging due to their presence across multiple platforms, recent reports suggested that Rogan's podcast, particularly on Spotify, boasted significantly more followers than CNN's cable viewership, which did see an increase in the first quarter.

Following a period of exclusive partnership with Spotify, Rogan has resumed posting episodes on YouTube, with his conversation with Singh garnering over 600,000 views.

Regarding the medication controversy, Rogan clarified that ivermectin, although popularly dubbed "horse dewormer," can indeed be prescribed to humans, as it was in his case. He criticized CNN for allegedly altering his appearance in the video, asserting that the original footage on his Instagram debunked any attempt to portray him inaccurately.

Rogan lamented the persistence of misinformation, with some still believing he took veterinary medicine despite clarifications. He criticized those who rely on superficial media consumption, emphasizing that many people now recognize the corruption and coordination within certain media outlets.
