DailyKenn.com — Miles Herrington, 97, and his wife, Ina Herrington, 94, were murdered during a Meridian, MS home invasion.
Maurice Christie, 28, faces two counts of capital murder which carry sentences of life imprisonment or the death penalty.Police Chief Deborah Naylor Young said there is no apparent connection between Christie and the Herrington family.
She mentioned, "What I can tell you is that he did not have any connection with the family... I cannot disclose why he was in the neighborhood, but he did not have any connection with the Herrington family."
Autopsies for both victims have been conducted, yet the results are pending.
