DailyKenn.com — Thomas P Isitt III, 44, was fatally shot in Kankakee, IL.
Arrested were 21-year-old Lani Bronkala and 18-year-old Amir Mays.
Suspects Amir Mays and Lani Bronkala allegedly lured Thomas P Isitt III to an apartment intending to rob him. Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at the location.
Once inside, officers found Isitt suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at with the cause of death ruled as homicide.
Surveillance footage revealed Bronkala meeting Isitt outside the apartment. Shortly after, Mays also entered the building. Witnesses inside the apartment reported heard Mays demand Isitt empty his pockets. When Isitt responded that he had nothing, a gunshot was heard. The witnesses then discovered Isitt had been shot in the head, with Bronkala and Mays nearby. The suspects fled to a nearby residence where they were later found by police, hiding under a pile of laundry.
Bronkala is currently being represented by a public defender, while Mays is represented by Chicago attorney Bart Beals, who argued that the other individuals present in the apartment could be responsible
