Would Ortega been given a pass had she used the term qinny or epicanthic folds?
Probably not.
The racism row that sits center stage in Western Marxist dialogue is not the moral fight they pretend it to be. Rather, the reality of racial differences defies the cardinal doctrine of Marxism: Economic inequity is attributed to social injustice rather than natural differences. We dare not suggest that East Asians are smarter than other people groups nor dare we suggest that whites excel in innovation.
To that end we must deny all racial differences, even when they are as plain as the noses on our faces (sometimes literally) or the shapes of our eyes. And when it comes to skin color, we must pretend it's only skin deep.
