Immokalee, Florida — A young woman became one of two victims in a deadly Florida shooting. Eliza Torres, 25, died on July 10, 2026, alongside a 29-year-old woman inside the home they shared. Authorities moved quickly, taking a suspect into custody the same morning.

Deputies from the Collier County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene after receiving a report of a possible shooting. They found both women unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Investigators identified Torres and noted that the other victim’s family requested privacy regarding her name. The women had built a life together in Immokalee over several years.

Lorenzo Ray Coleman Jr., also 25 and from Immokalee, faces charges in connection with the deaths. Prosecutors say he knew both women, and Torres had been in a relationship with him. He stands accused of two counts of second-degree murder with a firearm. Additional charges include child abuse — because a child reportedly witnessed the events — and grand theft auto.

Coleman left the scene in a white Dodge Challenger as law enforcement closed in. A coordinated search across counties followed, involving air support and ground teams. Lee County deputies located and arrested him in Lehigh Acres later that morning. He made his first court appearance days afterward, where a judge ordered him held without bond on the murder charges.

Florida authorities continue to investigate what led to the shootings, though many details remain under wraps as the legal process advances. Coleman has no contact order with the victims’ families.
