IMMOKALEE, Fla. — On July 10 deputies responded to reports of a shooting and discovered two women shot to death inside their home. Rheannon Robbins, 29, and her 25-year-old cousin Eliza Robbins lost their lives that Friday. Authorities moved quickly, arresting a suspect later the same day.

Lorenzo Coleman, 25, also from Immokalee, faces two counts of second-degree murder with a firearm, plus child abuse and grand theft auto. He allegedly knew both victims well — he had been in a relationship with Eliza — and fled the scene in a stolen white Dodge Challenger. Law enforcement tracked him across county lines, taking him into custody in Lehigh Acres within hours.

Deputies arrived shortly after 8:30 a.m. following the call. They found the women unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Investigators say a child inside the home saw what happened, adding another layer of trauma to the case. Coleman left before help arrived but didn't get far. A coordinated effort involving air support and real-time tracking helped pinpoint the vehicle.

This case highlights how swiftly authorities can act when evidence points clearly. Coleman appeared in court days later, where a judge ordered him held without bond on the murder counts. Additional conditions include no contact with witnesses and restrictions on weapons if released on other charges.

Rheannon and Eliza had shared a home in Immokalee for years. Family members described them as inseparable, with one sibling calling them central to her world.

Collier County investigators continue building the case. While details about the exact circumstances remain limited, the charges reflect the gravity of the allegations. Second-degree murder in Florida typically involves a depraved mind or intent to do serious harm without premeditated first-degree planning, though prosecutors will present their full evidence later.

Deadly cases like this are reminders that forming romantic relationships with impulsive individuals is not worth the risk.

The community, known for its agricultural roots and non-white population, now faces another chapter in its story. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward as the investigation proceeds.

Immokalee, Florida has a population of 26,361. Its largest ethnic and racial groups are Hispanic or Latino at 74%, black at 22%, and non-Hispanic white at 3% [source].
